Joel Garza - Vice President Information Technology and Land

Joel GarzaJoel Garza served as East Region Manager for Yahoo! from 1999 to 2004 leading a team of developers, designers, and project managers in providing and delivering technology driven services to Fortune 100 companies. Joel was responsible for annual revenues in excess of $12M for the region. As the department’s Major Accounts Program Manager, Joel provided budget, technical analysis, timeline management as well as development and facilitation of product and training workshops for clients in London, Hong Kong, Canada, and the USA.

Prior to joining Yahoo! Joel was an EPS Software Specialist for SIEMENS ElectroCom. Using Visual Basic, Dragon Naturally Speaking and Lernout & Hauspie voice programs, HTML, JavaScript and graphic related programs, Joel and team developed System Integrated Maintenance ONline (SIMON) for the United States Post Office to enable postal service employees to perform hands free maintenance procedures on postal equipment. The team received the 1999 EPSS Gold Award of Excellence for SIMON.

Joel is a member of the Microsoft Partner Program and currently provides technical consulting services to the small business sector. Subscriber of several technology specific newsletters and publications, Joel follows the technology sector closely evaluating how the current and future technical offerings drive business and can provide ROI for his clients.

Joel holds a BS Management Information Systems degree from The University of Texas at Arlington.
